Lithology and Thickness
Fine sandstones with cross-bedded stratifications. Continental alteration of the upper levels below the erosion surface has given rise to bauxites (20 m thick). From top to bottom, the following can be observed: gibbsite, kaolinite, and iron oxides. These can be concentrated at different levels up to 80 m below the paleosurface. Thickness is 10-35 m (Faure et al., 1966, pages 290-295).
